Allan has had a lifelong passion for nature and conservation and completed an MSc in Environmental Management at the University of Sunderland in 2004. Allan is an experienced ornithologist and spent 5 years living and working on seabird colonies in England and Scotland, for Scottish Natural Heritage and The National Trust. He then spent four years in Costa Rica releasing and closely monitoring macaws on a highly successful reintroduction project, including overseeing the world’s first reintroduction of the critically endangered Great Green Macaw. On return to the UK in 2013 Allan has worked as an ornithologist conducting surveys for renewable energy developments and has undertaken raptor, wildfowl, diver, black grouse and breeding bird surveys at 10 different sites across Scotland.
