Scott is a multi-disciplined customer-facing engineer. He currently primarily handles industrial gas turbine control system work in power generation and oil & gas sectors, drawing on his experience from Rolls-Royce and PI Gas Turbines. His experience covers design, installation and commissioning, technical support and troubleshooting. He has acted as lead engineer on several gas turbine controls retrofit projects for numerous large UK oil & gas operators. Scott has carried out detailed study work of SIL2 safety systems, and written proof test procedures for IEC-61511 compliance.
His on-site and remote fault-finding abilities have been repeatedly used to minimise customer down-time when technical issues occur, bringing equipment back into service quickly, maximising revenue.
Scott’s varied career includes the fields of; industrial gas turbines, NMR spectroscopy and superconducting magnets, laser control systems, education (mainstream, FE, and voluntary community projects), vintage aviation preservation voluntary projects. Through these fields, he has gained experience in mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering, computer programming, and customer relationships.
