Duties and responsibilities

ITPEnergised is seeking high quality graduate consultants to join its Energy and Emissions team, supporting our clients in their energy transition through the permitting and consenting of projects.

Working with the wider team, you will contribute to the delivery of committed projects and support the development of ITPEnergised’s related offering. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the growth of an exciting consulting business working alongside a highly experienced team.

Your role will be focussed on the technical delivery of environmental permitting, air emission, acoustics and energy related projects. On occasion you will also be required to support the wider team in a range of differing projects.  Your role will focus primarily entail:

  • Field survey, including monitoring and/or site visit. This may include occasional evening or night-time survey work, as project requires.
  • Desk-based impact assessment work, including data analysis and evaluation, computational modelling and authoring of assessment reports / technical chapters.
  • Support senior staff in larger multi-disciplinary EIA or permitting projects.
  • As the business requires, assist in delivery of other related environmental assessments, commensurate with experience and technical understanding.

You will join ITPEnergised’s graduate programme. Through this programme you will be provided with a mix of on-the-job and set training to develop your capabilities across a range of competencies, both technical and related to wider business knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable capabilities, knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • A relevant degree in a numerate science or engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of environmental issues, particularly in relation to atmospheric issues, including climate change, and public health issues.
  • Strong IT skills and advanced familiarity with spreadsheets and databases. Familiarity with GIS software would be considered an advantage.
  • Good data processing and analysis skills. Ability to present data.
Person specification

  • Personable, self-starter with ability to work on own and as part of a team.
  • Organised, with good time management skills.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills;
  • Ability to offer advice and guidance in a prompt, commercially-focussed and professional manner; and
  • Participation in an active health and safety culture.

You will be able to manage your own workload and be a self-starter as well as be able to work in a team. You will be willing to travel with the UK and overseas as required from time to time to deliver the above job description. The role will ideally be based in any of our UK offices (Edinburgh, Glasgow, London or Bristol), with a preference for Edinburgh, however we will be pleased to discuss flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.

Outline remuneration offer
  • Salary: Negotiable depending on capability and experience.
  • Pension: 5% EE contribution / 5% staff contribution.
  • Holidays: 25 days (including 3 days over Christmas and New Year), plus 9 public holidays (pro rata)
