Background to the role 

The Environmental Assessment and Compliance role will sit in our Advisory Team.  Advisory services covers a broad range of services including: Energy and Emissions, Sustainable Business and Renewables Asset Management.  You will also have chance to work closely with our Environmental Planning department. As part of ITPEnergised team, you will: 

  • work alongside the service lines to provide support in a wide variety of projects
  • develop your business communication and commercials skills through personal involvement with ‘live’ projects and bids, etc.
  • explore opportunities to develop both your technical and soft skills through training and on-the-job learning
  • work with colleagues from different disciplines; and 
  • network with, and learn from, experts and influencers from across the industry 

You will join the Graduate Development Programme, which has been designed to offer the best possible graduate training and support mechanisms to help guide you through the first two years of your career.  

The programme covers a range of aspects and is structured to help you achieve competency and understanding across many aspects of the business and will offer you the chance to join the graduate network within the business, to support peer to peer learning.  

Person Specification

While we recognize every candidate has their own unique set of skills and experience, we feel the ideal candidate for this role should be able to demonstrate knowledge of, or have experience in the following skills and attributes:

  • a degree in a relevant subject
  • an understanding (through previous work experience or your academic studies) of:
    • Pollution Prevention Control / Environmental Permitting Regulations
    • Environmental Impact Assessment
    • Environmental Management Systems
    • Contractor management
  • strong communication skills
  • demonstrable capability and experience in project or task management

Work experience in any of the above areas would be considered a bonus.

Work Location

Your work location is up to you! We are big believers in flexible working, and that includes working from home. If you prefer an office environment, we have offices in Edinburgh. Glasgow, London and Bristol, and we are happy to talk about hybrid working patterns.

You may be asked to attend meetings at our office locations, or travel to clients’ offices or sites as project work requires. This may include international travel, where necessary.

Outline Remuneration Offer
  • Salary: £23,000 – £25,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
  • Pension: 5% EE contribution / 5% staff contribution
  • Holidays: 34 days pro rata (including bank holidays and 3 compulsory days over Christmas and New Year)
