Background to the role 

As part of our ongoing development, we are now seeking to complement our growing team with an experienced Learning & Development Manager.

ITPEnergised is a renewable energy consultancy which provides a range of consultancy services, including Technology (Power Systems, Grid, Cables, Development Project Management); Advisory (Sustainable Business & Finance, Energy & Emissions, Low Carbon and Energy Transition, Asset Management & Technical Due Diligence); and Environmental Planning (Ecology, Geology & Hydrology and EIA).

You are not required to be expert in any of these fields, but your role will require the ability to identify the needs of the individual teams with the guidance and support of the Service Leads and expert postholders.

Duties and responsibilities

Supported by, and reporting into the Head of People, you will be responsible for co-ordinating several learning initiatives across the business, designed to enhance our employees’ knowledge and skills associated with our Company Values, Behaviours and Core Competencies.

You will be supported by a small number of L&D champions from across the business, as well as expert postholders and the Leadership Team. You will have the flexibility and ownership to develop the programmes as you deem appropriate.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the design, delivery, implementation and evaluation our suite of learning interventions. Some programmes have been successfully launched and require maintenance and co-ordination, while others have frameworks which are yet to be finalised. Our Programmes include:
    • New Starter Induction Programme
    • Talent Development Programme
    • Graduate Development Programme
    • Apprenticeship and Intern Programme
    • ITPEnergised Academy (Leadership Development Programme for our Rising Stars)
    • Mentoring Programme

The role also includes:

  • Maintaining our Skills Matrix and liaising with our Sector and Service Leads to establish and address ongoing training needs
  • Managing the Training Calendar and associated administration
  • Maintaining training records and associated trackers
  • Co-ordinating the development and implementation of an e-learning programme (e.g., Moodle, Talent LMS, etc.) to improve the employee learning experience across all levels
  • Keeping up to date with L&D innovations and interventions as they apply to our Company needs
Person Specification

While we recognize every candidate has their own unique set of skills and experience, we feel the ideal candidate for this role should be able to demonstrate knowledge of, or have experience in the following skills and attributes:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Social Sciences, Business, Psychology or Education (preferred, but not essential)
  • CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development (preferred, but not essential)
  • Excellent communications skills across all levels of seniority and experience
  • Experience in the administration and maintenance of SCORM digital learning systems (e.g., Moodle, Talent LMS) would be an advantage
  • Experience in an L&D role within a consultancy environment would be an advantage
  • Project management skills would be an advantage
Work Location

Your work location is up to you! We are big believers in flexible working, and that includes working from home. If you prefer an office environment, we have offices in Edinburgh. Glasgow, London and Bristol, and we are happy to talk about hybrid working patterns.

You may be asked to attend meetings at our office locations, or travel to clients’ offices or sites as project work requires. This may include international travel, where necessary.

Outline Remuneration Offer
  • Salary: From £35,000 per annum (agreed salary to be based on skills and experience)
  • Pension: 5% EE contribution / 5% staff contribution
  • Holidays: 34 days pro rata (including bank holidays)
