The Environment Agency has confirmed that the ESOS Phase 3 Compliance Deadline has been extended to 6 August 2024.
The latest Environment Agency ESOS Newsletter confirms that the compliance deadline has been extended from 5 June to 6 August 2024 and also sets out guidance on registering for the new IT portal. Concerns over the late issuing of the guidance, delays in the new IT system and an apparent shortage of Lead Assessors appears to have has prompted this deadline extension. The Manage your Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme reporting system (MESOS) will go live on Tuesday 19 March 2024 and links to the various supporting documentation, along with the Newsletter are listed below –
- ESOS Newsletter March 2024
- ESOS New User Account and organisation Set-up
- ESOS Pre Onboarded User Account and Organisation Set-up
- ESOS User Management
The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy assessment, introduced by the UK Government to encourage large businesses in the UK to be energy efficient. Phase 1 and 2 are complete with Phase 3 now underway. To find out more about the scheme, the qualification criteria and key requirements please read our December 2023 Phase 3 ESOS Briefing here.
We are still working on the basis that our existing ESOS clients will be compliant in June 2024 and as such are unable to take on new ESOS clients between now and the end of June so that we can service our existing clients and their compliance needs. However, if you are still in need of ESOS services after July 2024 we may be able to help you.
