ITPEnergised’s Managing Director, Jonny Clark was delighted to support Scottish Renewables this month, giving evidence to the Scottish Parliament’s Economy and Fair Work Committee, discussing some of the opportunities and challenges faced by the renewables sector. This was an evidence gathering session, focusing on businesses working in the renewables sector and discussed the outlook for business investment and the challenges ahead in 2023.

Also participating in the session was Professor Logan, Chief Entrepreneurial Adviser to the Scottish Government, Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, Jon O’Sullivan, Director of Onshore and Solar at EDF Renewables, and  James Reid, Operations Director at FES Energy.

A wide-ranging discussion ensued, a full report on which can be accessed here. As Jonny summarises, “For the Scottish and wider UK Government’s to maximise the economic benefits of renewable energy, they need to implement clear long term strategies which attract both financial and intellectual capital and to position as a global centre of excellence for renewables, for decades to come.”

We look forward to further discussions in this area and will continue to advocate for increased investment in the renewables sector as well as collaboration across the industry as we edge closer to our net zero target of 2045.
