Carbon Emissions Tax HMRC summary for no-deal Brexit

ITPEnergised’s Advisory Team has summarised the latest HMRC position regarding Carbon Emissions Tax following a no-deal Brexit to aid with planning.

UK Operators of Installations currently participating in the EU Emissions Trading scheme (EU ETS) or with accounts in the Consolidated System of European Registries / Kyoto Protocol National Registry should note that in the event of a no-deal Brexit on 31 October 2019, the Carbon Emissions Tax would start on 4 November 2019. HMRC has updated its Carbon Emissions Tax technical note which should be read in full by Operators and/or their agents.
