Responsible Investment Strategy Support

Confidential Investor Client

Team members have previously worked with a key investor with £1.3 billion assets under management developing and implementing an ESG programme. A strategic framework was created that reflected the company’s way of doing business, was easy to communicate and focused on key stakeholders. The team set a number of sustainability targets, defined a governance structure, carried out a peer group review and managed legislative risk by preparing and guiding the company through the legislative journey.


Various Clients

The team have extensive experience assisting clients to a range of voluntary benchmarking & reporting standards and submissions (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark/GRESB, CDP Investor Responses and UN Principles for Responsible Investment/UNPRI). We worked with an investor on their UNPRI and GRESB submissions for 7 funds across a number of years, gaining incremental YOY improvements through measures that we introduced throughout the year.

EHS due diligence, telecommunications business, Republic of Ireland 

Confidential Private Equity Client

The team produced a ‘Red Flag’ Environmental Due Diligence report for a telecommunications business. The objective of the assessment was to identify any key ‘Red Flag’ environmental and health and safety (EHS) liabilities which may be material to its ongoing operation. The assessment included a review of information provided by the business and ‘a question and answer’ session with key personnel. To confirm and support the findings of the document review a site inspection of a representative example of key facilities was undertaken.

ESG Due Diligence, civil aircraft repair & dry cleaning facility, Middle East 

Confidential Private Equity Client

Team members were previously involved with undertaking a high level ESG assessment for a private equity company which was looking at acquiring a civil aircraft maintenance business.

EBRD Due Diligence, UK

TF Kable

The team undertook an environmental, health & safety, and social due diligence assessment of JDR Cables UK facilities for TFKable. The assessments were undertaken against the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Performance Requirements.

Asset Management

CDP support


A member of the team developed the GHG emission inventory for Victrex and the qualitative response for the investor questionnaire for the company’s first response to the Carbon Disclosure Project.

Bespoke GHG Assessment Tool

Confidential Impact Investor Client

A member of the team produced an Industrial Emissions Directive / European Investment Bank compliance screening tool for a Confidential Client. The tool was designed to enable non-specialist users to determine whether emerging thermal power plant designs would meet the international benchmarks for air pollution emissions and greenhouse gas intensity, in terms of kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent per kilowatt-hour of electricity generated.

Climate Change Risk Assessment


The project assessed the impact that climate change will have on Diageo’s major European spirits warehousing facility in Scotland. The aim of the study was to identify the likely climate change scenarios for key time frames: 2020, 2050 and 2080. ITPE team members developed a bespoke risk assessment methodology to look at the impact on infrastructure, people and products.

Renewable Asset Management

Alpha Real Renewables

Team members act as asset managers for a turbine wind farm in Aberdeenshire, liaising with the turbine maintenance provider in the event of any faults occurring on site. As requested by the client monthly reports are also produced in order to report on performance over the month and year to date.

Technical Due Diligence for Renewables


The team undertook technical advisory and due diligence services to assess five PV farms, totalling 80 MW, to assist the client in deciding on whether they should acquire the portfolio or not. ITPE undertook site visits to assess workmanship and reviewed data room documents.

Renewables Feasibility Study

Confidential Client

The team was contracted by a Commercial Investor to prepare a pre-feasibility study assessing the technical and economic viability of different options for a PV and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) to be installed in the North African desert. The assessment covered concentrating solar thermal technologies, including hybrid plants and opportunities for thermal storage. The levelised cost of energy of the different solar plant options was evaluated, taking into consideration capital and operation and maintenance costs.
